Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  1. All articles and other submissions submitted for publication in the AUJHMSS should be written in English, with English spellings and not any other.
  2. Manuscripts must include a cover page that contains the following: title of the article, the author’s name, institutional affiliation, and abstract of not more than 150 words.
  3. No manuscripts submitted to the journal for publication should have been previously published or currently being considered by other publications. A short letter attesting to this must be submitted with each manuscript.
  4. Articles should be between 6,000 and 8,000 words, including references, appendices, tables, and figures.
  5. Articles should be submitted with a short bio-data (150 words maximum) of contributors.
  6. Articles should be submitted in WordPerfect or MSWord format. Manuscripts should be typed written on one side of the page only: in Times New Roman 12 point font, with double-line spacing, with 1-inch margins on all sides, with page numbers at top right hand corner of each page. Original copies of illustrative resources should be sent after the acceptance of the article for publication.
  7. References should be the Chicago Manual Style, 17th Edition – the two different variants
  8. The Notes and References should appear at the end of the article.
  9. To guarantee anonymity of writers of articles under the peer-review mechanism, the name(s), title(s), and full affiliation(s) of the author(s), mailing address, e-mail address, and phone numbers should appear only on the cover page. And not in any other parts of the article.
